Motivation in Modern ICT Industry Essay - 1570 Words

Motivation in modern ICT industry Motivation is the psychological background of an individual, which will build up his ego, determining whether that individual will be productive or hard-working at the place of work. In the case of the ICT industry, studies are constantly being done regarding what makes up the general employee in the industry, and which characteristics can be exploited. In this short report, a few models that have been studied, and how they work within a software-based company, will be discussed. A software engineer can be characterized by various traits, which differ from the average employee, although they are still generally based upon the basic fundamental characteristics. In a literature review drawn up by Sarah†¦show more content†¦A promotion, for example, is not always beneficial to the company, as it may demotivate the individual depending on his ego. If one is not comfortable at a position offered (if he accepts) it may not be as productive as he would be at a lower tier, despite him being motivated by means of a reward. The job characteristic theory is a model of regulation of motivation within a place of work, for which many variants have been developed. This model was first proposed by Greg Oldham and Richard Hackman. A modification to this theory, the Job Characteristic Model is a model proposed by Couger and Zawacki, and it is more applicable to a software background. In modern ICT research, more focus is taken onto open-source developers, in the area of motivation. The theory itself studies job characteristics that affect work-related outcomes, most importantly – motivation; and provides measures for them known as the motivating potential score. The alternative proposed by Couger and Zawacki adds a few factors which they believed were better oriented to a software development company. They extended the core job characteristics originally proposed to be only 5. They also developed the Job Diagnostics Survey for Data Personnel which may be used as comparison across groups. Dorothy Dandridge free essay sample

This paper reflects Dorothy Dandridge the first African American actress to achieve a leading-role status. Mrs. Dandridge also had a deeply troubled life, marked by the scars of a miserable childhood, a string of failed personal relationships, numerous career setbacks, and ongoing struggles with drug and alcohol abuse. Racism was also one of the demons with which she had to deal with. The terms race, ethnicity and culture have no generally agreed upon definitions. There’s a growing interest in the dealings between race, ethnicity and culture and perhaps as a result of the psychiatric and psychological studies are being conducted to identify a possible link between mental disorders, personality and moral development (Fenton). One must remember all the changes that mark our lives make up a process called development, which is the series of age-related changes that happen over the course of a life span. Many factors influence development, including genes, parental upbringing, parents educational and economic backgrounds, and life experiences. Even historical events over which one has no control can influence our development. Many forms of behavior can be better understood if one recognizes them as merely variations of basic human nature and personality. Because of this, it is necessary to have a general theory of human nature, personality and behavior before one try to examine any specific variation. Dorothy Dandridge responded very strongly to the emotional tone and atmosphere around her, and can be dominated by her fluctuating and unpredictable moods. Dandridge often appears irrational to others because she could not always explain the reason or source of her feelings. Her feelings and emotions were something of a mystery . It was often difficult for her to share what she was feeling with others. She frequently withdrawal from the world and needed a healing, peaceful environment in order to blossom and come out of her own world. Dorothy Dandridge was a woman ruined by disastrous attempts to overcome racial barriers in movies and in her personal life, She successfully manage a prominent career and its successive fortunes, endure heartache and disappointment to one day find true love and security, and to overcome her own internal, self-destructive tendencies. Many people do not realize that depression is a disease, it’s a real medical disorder where changes occur in the brain, and they have medicine that helps correct these imbalances. Depression has been described as a whole-body illness because it doesn’t only affect the person’s mood but can affect every aspect of a person’s life. Depression is an illness not a state of mind or a weakness. Dandridge often believe she must do something or be something other than what she is in order to receive approval and acceptance from others. She was very sensitive to criticism and often felt left out or neglected, and though appeared cool or distant, Dandridge actually cared very much about being included. Dorothy Dandridge the little girl who would grow up to be one of her eras most beautiful women, and one of the most famous African American actress in the 20th century. Dorothy came into the world at the heart of a heated domestic discord that in its own quiet unstated way would trouble and haunt her for the next forty years. Even before she was born, Dorothy Dandridge was at the center of a domestic storm. Her mother Ruby, whom was an actress; was a strong-willed and outspoken woman whom left her husband Cyril Dandridge when she was five months pregnant with Dorothy. As a woman always searching for answers, Dorothy would often wonder how different it all might have turned out had she grownup with the father whom she had never really known. Dorothy wonder what direction her life might have taken had her mother Ruby never ventured to Cleveland and stayed instead on the wide plains of Kansas (nytimes). Through the mist of all the turmoil Dorothy married Harold Nicholas. The youngest brother in the famous Nicholas Brothers act in 1942. After Dorothy found out the hard way Harold was not an ideal husband. Harold carried on affairs with other women and did not spend a lot of time at home. In 1943 Dorothy gave birth to a daughter named Harolyn. Dorothy soon discovered that her daughter had brain damage and eventually had to put her in someone elses care. As Dorothy film career and marriage failed, Dandridge began drinking heavily and taking antidepressants. Dandridge soon suffered a nervous breakdown. On September 8, 1965, she was found dead in her Hollywood home, an apparent suicide from a drug overdose of the antidepressant Tofranil in 1965. One might say growing up in a domestic abuse family, and being raised by a single mother. You will probably end up doing exactly what you see your mother do. I guess you can say like mother like daughter. Dorothy life mirrored her mother. Ruby her mother was an actress and she left her husband. Dorothy did the same thing. She ended her life by committing suicide. African-American women have a triple jeopardy status, which places them at risk for developing depression (Boykin, 1985; Carrington, 1980; Taylor, 1992). One whom live in a majority-dominated society that frequently devalues our ethnicity, culture, and gender. In addition, one may find themselves at the lower spectrum of the American political and economic continuum. Often one is involved in multiple roles as one attempt to survive economically and advance ourselves, and our families through mainstream society. The name s of the two shooters became a household name. Dylan Bennet Klebold is one of the shooters at Columbine High School yet if he did not cross path with Eric Harris, not been rejected from his peers, and been able to handle his depression then perhaps Dylan would not have been involved. Dylan Klebold was only one of the shooters that Tuesday April 20, 1999. Eric David Harris is the other shooter and you can not say one name without saying the other. Together they have done something America was not ready to comprehend and to this day what lead the boys to the decision is not certain. What is know is the planning to the terrible day and other events that may be linked to their decisions. â€Å"There are several police reports that show a recent history of trouble Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were responsible for prior to the shootings at Columbine; reports of threats and violence that were swept under the rug by the local law enforcement, kept hidden for months after the tragedy (Shepard).† Both Dylan and Eric rode the same bus and attend the same middle school with one other friend Nathan Dykeman. The boys would be involved with school and were interested in video production. The boys made countless videos of themselves some of which were used to study their behavior. Video showed the boys in the woods firing hand guns, wearing trench coats in one project called ‘Hitman for Hire’, talking violently to the camera about the acts they would do to bullies, and lastly videos from Eric’s basement which have not been fully release to the public. Yet not being 18 to purchase guns themselves, Dylan had a friend who would also be his prom date, Robyn Anderson, bought the guns for them. Eric and Dylan take turns shooting the guns and practice their aim. The ‘Hitman for Hire’ was a project were the Eric and Dylan were hire by students who have been bullied at their school as they saw their role as â€Å"the men in black that geeks, outcasts, nerds, and other picked-on souls could turn to in order to take care of bullies who were harassing them and making their lives hell. In the film, Dylan and Eric run around protecting the weak (Shepard).† The project’s video is chilling to watch due to the day the shooting happened the boys wear black trench coats as in the video and walked the halls with guns looking for victims to shoot. Some suggest Eric and Dylan were rehearsing for what they called ‘judgement day’. From all the videos Eric and Dylan made the basement videos have yet to be completely released to the public. The day of the attack about 30 minutes before, Eric and Dylan made their last video which they both take a turn saying goodbye, Dylan had a message for his mother, â€Å"Hey mom. Gotta go. Its about a half an hour before our little judgment day. I just wanted to apologize to you guys for any crap this might instigate as far as (inaudible) or something. Just know Im going to a better place. I didnt like life too much and I know Ill be happy wherever the fuck I go. So Im gone. Good-bye. Reb. (Shepard). Dylan’s mother, Susan Klebold, was not aware of the videos her son was making and st ated, â€Å"Dylan was a gentle, sensible kid. No one in our family had ever owned a gun. How in the world could he be part of something like this (I Will Never Know Why P.1)?† His mother knew of the depression he faced, the friendship with Eric, but was she aware of how depressed he truly was which may have needed assisted from doctors, how toxic Eric was to Dylan, and the anger from the rejection from others he held inside. Dylan kept a journey from 1997 to 1999, his writing consisting of his thoughts and hatred for his life, talking about a girl he loves which transforms his writing almost to poetry, and to dark desires of killing, bombing the school, and the schedule of April 20. Dylan was aware of being different from his classmates. As a teenager growing up and trying to understand himself he knew his thoughts were not the same as his classmates. â€Å"I know that i am different, yet i am afraid to tell the society. The possible abandonment, persecution is not something I want to face, yet it is so primitive to me,† this side of Dylan seems to feel helpless as if he has already chosen his fate (Shepard). Throughout the journal, and videos, you witness different sides of Dylan. He struggles with his emotions as read in his journal at times he talks about his loneliness and wanting to reach out to people, then to anger of not being welcome, and then spends briefly of his unrequited love but ult imately Dylan wanted to be accepted. â€Å"I will be free one day, in the land of purity my happiness, I will have a love, someone who is me in a way. Someday Possibly thru this life, maybe another, but it will happen,† in his journal Dylan is seeking accept perhaps even help. After 19 years the question if Dylan would be been on antidepressants could have changed the outcome of that day? Dylan was not quiet about his desire of killing, he wrote an essay on it which his teacher found unappreciated and gave it to the counselor to evaluated it. Yet thing came from it. Dylan’s mother notices her son behaving differently yet passed it as, â€Å"Dylan was just being a typical teenager (Dawson).†Ã‚   With the journals and videos psychologist and FBI profilers stated yet neither were formally diagnosed, â€Å"Dylan likely suffered from severe depression and suicidal thoughts, while Eric was likely a psychopath (Dawson).† Both dealt with mental issues yet it was too late it help. Eric Harris was a big influence on Dylan, many students stating that Dylan was a follower and Eric was a leader. Eric’s parents never spoke or were interviewed about what their son have done. Eric would be shown on the media of killing the most between himself and Dylan, was Eric the mastermind of that day which Dylan called ‘judgement day’? Its simply really Dylan wanted to die, and Eric wanted to kill. Eric in Dylan’s life was the approximating cause to his involvement on April 20, 1999. Dylan dealt with depression and perhaps if the influence of Eric caused him to think that others should suffer for his sad life. In Dylan’s journey he talks about the jocks and the girls who ignored him, Eric could have known to make history of killing at his high school he would need help and Dylan was easily influenced. In the end Dylan suffer in life and in death, when Dylan shot himself was not enough to kill him instantly but to slowly have him drown in his ow n blood whereas a shot gun in the mouth cause Eric no pain. Dylan, thanks to Eric’s planning, is known as a monster since 1999 for dwelling at the gates of differences as Cohen would say. Cohen has seven theses to monster one being â€Å"The Monster Dwells at the Gates of Difference†, Dylan felt has an outcast knowing his thoughts were not was called ‘normal’. He then acted on it which caused him to be label as a monster, as his mother had mention teenage depression is common but not given the full action it needs. Due to the lack of interest Dylan acted on his emotions and did something terrible. And what Dylan did that day at his high school has changed our cultural forever such as the safety in our school and to how police officers are to respond in that situation. What cause him to be part of the planning, agreeing to act upon his thoughts, and to kill and harms others will never be understood and will be kept with Dylan. â€Å"Colorado News.† The Denver Post Online News, extras.denverpost.com/news/shot0420a.htm. A news article the day before of the events of April 20, 1999. Prefect example of how an impact the school shooting shock the nation. Sue, out of both mothers, spoke about her son and wrote a book. She has brought awareness to depression to high school students and the importance of looking into seeking help. She describes Dylan’s personality before and the days leading up to April 20. Her quotes of her son will be used to show how Eric was the ringleader of the event. Dylan was a follower with anger and wanted to punish others for his life.

It can be affirmed that these sorts of decisions have been made in order to serve the best interests of the consumers and comply with their requirements. Before making the product design, the requirement of personal computers was analyzed in an in-depth manner. Based on this analysis, it had been found that personal computers were in high demand given the IT industry booming at a significant level. The sales office location should represent the major cities along with towns in a particular country. In addition, if provided with the opportunity to repeat the simulation process, the decision of changing the target market i.e. the location of sales offices should not be made. Gathering Resources Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Gathering Resources - Assignment Example According to Ungar (2011), there are seven main categories of resources that after examining status of their clients, counselors can employ in a counseling session. The seven resources include power and control, social justice, cohesion, cultural adherence, identity, relationships and access to material resources. In the case of Robinson family encompassing a mother, 14 years old boy, 11 years old girl and 3 months old infant that is victim to domestic violence, the most basic resources are access to material resources and relationships. According to Ungar (2011), material resources fundamental in counseling include financial, educational resources, employment opportunities, access to food, shelter, clothing and medical services. In the case of the Robinson family including a mother, a 14 years old boy, 11 years old girl and 3 months old infant not all the material resources will be necessary and urgent. The most important material resources for the family include shelter, financial and educational resources, medical resources, and food and clothing resources. Employment opportunities will still be irrelevant to the family at least during the early periods of counseling. Assuming that the whole family is healthy from any pathological infection or physical injury, the most important resource for all will be food. Food will have to precede all other resources so to energize the family and enable them survive during search for shelter and clothing that will have to follow immediately. Shelter and clothing will help in providing warmth to the bodies of the family as well as creating comfort while waiting for the next actions. The nature of priority here is to rescue life and enhance safety of

American Foreign Policy In The Middle East

American Foreign Policy In The Middle East In spite of long distance between Middle East and United States, U.S. has influenced and has connections in the every country in the region. Strategic interests have forced the US to build the relations with Middle East including the competition with the Soviet Union U.S. has been provoked by the Soviet Union for its interventions from diplomatic overtures of war and friendship. Americans have interests to access the Middle Eastern oil. In this regard they have motivated their presidents and lawmakers to intervene the region. In addition cultural ties bind Arab Americans, Iranian Americans and Turkish Americans. These American groups want to make the voices heard in the U.S. foreign policy arena. The aim of this paper is to discuss the United States ideological and physical presence in the region of the Middle East. The paper has mainly focused on the points of the foreign policies of U.S towards the Middle East and the crisis which need special attention of America. Discussion The Cold War ended with the Soviet withdrawal from the Third World in general, leaving the United States unchallenged at a regional level, for an uncertain period of time. Sudden collapse of the Cold War rival, disintegration of the Soviet Union, brought the super military and economic power in need to readjust from one attuned to the global activities and ambitions of Soviet Union to one with new definitions of security and political interests. The year 1989 proved to be a very important watershed in the world politics with regard to its reflection and influence on the political history. The Cold war period was an idiosyncratic with its governing rules. U.S. and the Soviet Union reflected its spirit on all levels of the interactions among all actors of the system. This had also been observed in the interaction between the superpowers and one particular sub-region, one of the most problematic artificial regions of recent times- the Middle East. After subjecting to a certain level of limitation, factors that had shaped the U.S. Middle East policies during the Cold War did emerge as preventing the expansion of Communism by the Soviet Union, securing the free-flow of the Middle Eastern oil to Western industry, and providing the security of newly formed state of Israel and other pro-Western states. The Cold War ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union that resulted in the emergence of new independent states, which became the pawns of the new rivalry between big powers to fill the power vacuum after the Soviets to utilize from their natural resources. But for the sake of the aim of the paper, after a brief look at global developments, the study will focus on the U.S. and Middle Eastern relations in more detail. Color of the new period started to become obvious with immediate signs provided by Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, civil war in Somalia, etc. These have been contributions to the demands and claims of the U.S. by the regional states. `Uncivilized` parts of the world invited the saviors to bring peace and happiness, but on tanks, through mistreating their neighbors and citizens. Egypt and U.S. relationships have been under the distrustful condition due to nationalization of Suez Canal. During this time Egypt turned towards the Eastern block and Soviet Union and relations suffered with U.S. until the Soviet Advisor was not ousted. After that Egypt began to orient its economic and foreign policies towards the West especially U.S. Iraq invasion by the U.S. has resulted the distrust and dispersal in Middle East. However U.S kept eyes on the wells of the Iraq, and was forced to withdraw its troops from the region. New president of U.S Obama has committed to withdraw its troops and launch a very comprehensive regional and international diplomatic relations with the brokers to settle the Iraqi people. Obama would withdraw most of the troops from the region and emphasized that troop would be in Kuwait rather than in Iraq itself. Iran is under the pressure of the U.S. Irans nuclear program has created concern for the Israel in the region. It is clear that American foreign policies revolve around the benefits of the Israel. Irans nuclear program is hurdle in the ways of Israel invasion in the Palestinian territory. However Obama has criticized the Senator Clinton bellicose Kyl-Lieberman amendment targeting Iran. He has preferred to negotiate with Iran directly. Sustained and aggressive diplomacy combined with tough sanctions should be our primary means to prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons. (Obama U.S. President). This raises the question why the Obama has not called for aggressive diplomacy and tough sanctions against the Israel, India and Pakistan for their existing nuclear weapons, so no less than Iran is also making violations of UN security resolutions. Although in the case of the Palestine, in start of his regime he has called for balance of power in Palestinian territory with support of the Israeli peace camp and its supporters. He was hopeful to settle the conflict according to the line of Geneva Initiative and also similar efforts by Israeli and Palestinians. However past two years Obama has changed the mind and has insisted to help the Israel with full funding the military assistance. In the presence of the international condemnation the Obama has claimed that Hezbollah was the responsible for these killings of innocent citizens. However the Human Right Watch has found that there was no involvement of the Hezbollah and it was the massive killings of innocent people by the Israeli tro ops. Obamas senators always condemn the attacks against the Israeli civilians by Arabs and have never condemned the killings of Pedestrians by the Israeli troops. Syria is the country of the region and lies in the part of the Middle East from where U.S. can get its goals in the Middle East. American has not established a confidant policy towards the Syria. Conclusions This paper has examined the points of American foreign policies in Middle East. This paper provides a brief evaluation of the American foreign policy and measures taken to make the region very peaceful for the Obama Administration. We have started from the Cold war pre-circumstances and presently prevailing conditions of the Middle East with perspective of the America foreign policy. This paper ends with a discussion of the potential for a return to liberalism in foreign policy towards the Middle East during the present Obama administration. A very moderate and realistic approach is recommended in specific instances. A foreign policy based on the true realistic approaches is required to be fully reconsidered.

Story about a Car Wreck Essay -- Personal Narrative Essays

â€Å"We have to get them out of there!† I heard voices yelling out in the distance, but was to lightheaded to know where they were coming from. Confused, shocked and fear filled my mind as I lye on my side, gasping for air, trying desperately to stagger onto my knees. A sharp pain suddenly ran up my spine into my forehead and quickly I collapsed back onto the cold damp floor inside this mangled metal coffin in which I was trapped in. Bit by bit I moved my hand closer to my forehead, trying to impede this massive throbbing that was affecting my head. I skimmed my forehead and paused my hand on a huge gash. The pain shot into my head again, but I was able to clutch on to the seat and hold my balance. There was blood pouring down the side of my face, forming a puddle on the floor. As I lifted my head up, all I could see were lights flashing and ghostly shadows moving in all directions. The blood that I had loss slowly took affect on me, feeling disoriented I plummeted to the ground hoping that this twisted metal coffin would not become my tombstone. â€Å"I don’t want to go!† I shouted at my mom. â€Å"Perry get in the car, no questions asked!†She refused to repeat herself. My mom was one of those people who had been through a lot in her life. When you stared in her eyes, instead of her backing down she would stare right back at you with 10 times the force, which literally felt like your eyeballs were being pushed right to the back of your head. She always made dinner for the family, and like any women had a little â€Å"me† time where no one could bother her as she filled her brain with useless T.V drama. â€Å"Hurry your lazy ass up† my little brother swiftly remarked before making his quick exit through the front door. â€Å"I’ am not going to hi... ... was placed over my face. Was it over? I deliberated to myself. I tried not to breathe, but in less than a second I was unconscious again. In no apparent order multiple scenes began to flash through my head. My thoughts turned to nothing, and for one minute all I saw in my mind was an everlasting black abyss accompanied by a single deafening beep. â€Å"Perry...Perry?† A soft peaceful voice echoed in my eardrum. â€Å"Good morning† A beautiful nurse awoke me. I truly thought I was in heaven. â€Å"How are you feeling their big guy?† My curiosity got the better of me â€Å"am I in heaven?† She chuckled â€Å"Of course not† she started running some tests. I slowly pushed my eyelids open, finally coming face to face with reality. â€Å"Is my mom okay?† â€Å"Yea she’s fine, you did a very brave thing back there,† she whispered to me. I whispered back, â€Å"the funny thing was†¦I never wanted to go†¦Ã¢â‚¬

Cinderella Story Essay

Elisabeth Panttaja states that the mother role in all the Cinderella’s has a wide effect on the fairytales. In the article, Panttaja analyzes the Cinderella myth from the Grimms brothers’ perspective, along with other Cinderella myths. One topic Panttaja mentions is, â€Å"Indeed, Cinderella’s mother’s role is far from marginal: the words and actions of Cinderella’s mother are of vital importance†. Panttaja suggests that even though Cinderella’s mother is not a main character in the story, she is the reason Cinderella does end up having a happy ending. This part is overlooked when reading fairytales; Cinderella’s mother is the whole reason why she has to keep striving to achieve the happy ending. Even though Cinderella’s mother appears to die in the Grimms’ version of Cinderella, her spirit lives on in relation to the tree, and the two birds. As Panttaja says, â€Å"But is she really motherless? Not really, since the twig that she plants on her mother’s grave grows into a tree that takes care of her, just as her mother promised to do†. Throughout the story the mother guides Cinderella by showing up in different forms of life and magically making Cinderella look beautiful for the ball. Cinderella uses this to her advantage, for example, when the two pigeons pluck out the evil stepsister’s eyes in the end of the story. â€Å"The happy ending proves that it is the mother, after all, who has been the power of the story† (Panttaja). This quote shows that Cinderella’s mother guided her throughout the story without actually being alive in person. Later in Panttaja’s article, she explains that Cinderella’s stepmother and her real mother are much alike. â€Å"These two women share the same devotion to their daughters and the same long-term goals: each mother wants to ensure a future of power and prestige for her daughter, and each is willing to resort to extreme measures to achieve her aim† (Panttaja). Panttaja suggests that the two mothers are competing to marry off their daughters and provide them with a happy ending. In the end, Cinderella’s mother wins because Cinderella marries the prince who is noble. Another key point that Panttaja summarizes about is the fact that the fairytales make us think that Cinderella loves the prince, but in reality the readings never seem to mention anything about love. â€Å"The prince marries Cinderella because he is enchanted†¦ by the sight of her in her magical clothes† (Panttaja). The prince never seems to care about the love from Cinderella, just that she is beautiful in the dress that her mother made magically appear. All in all, Panttaja states everything goes back to the moral of the magical mothers powers. In the end, Panttaja explains how the Cinderella legacy goes on to show how siblings compete to be better than one another, and Cinderella shows this in the â€Å"most extreme form† (Panttaja). Panttaja also goes on to explain how Cinderella is not the girl everyone always imagines.

Famous Quotations About Literature and Writing We see, enjoy, and criticize the end result of writers work, but theres so much more to these pieces than what the public consumes. After all, millions of books get published every year, joining the vast libraries that have been built up over time, but we regard few as classics, greats or masterpieces. So what makes the difference between just another piece of writing and a literary success? Often, its the writer. Heres a collection of thoughts from world-famous writers on what literature means to them and why they pursued the written word as a means to express themselves. Quotes About Writing and Literature Henry Miller: Develop an interest in life as you see it; the people, things, literature, music-the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls, and interesting people. Forget yourself.Ezra Pound: Great literature is simply language charged with meaning to the utmost possible degree.Joseph Heller: He knew everything about literature except how to enjoy it.John Steinbeck: I hold that a writer who does not passionately believe in the perfectibility of man has no dedication nor any membership in literature.Alfred North Whitehead: It is in literature that the concrete outlook of humanity receives its expression.Henry James: It takes a great deal of history to produce a little literature.C. S. Lewis: Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.Oscar Wilde: Literature always anticipates life . It does not copy it but molds it to its purpose. The nineteenth century, as we know it, is largely an invention of Balzac. G. K. Chesterton: Literature is a luxury; fiction is a necessity.Virginia Woolf: Literature is strewn with the wreckage of those who have minded beyond reason the opinion of others.Salman Rushdie: Literature is where I go to explore the highest and lowest places in human society and in the human spirit, where I hope to find not absolute truth but the truth of the tale, of the imagination and of the heart.William Somerset Maugham: The crown of literature is poetry.Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: The decline of literature indicates the decline of a nation.Robert Louis Stevenson: The difficulty of literature is not to write, but to write what you mean. Forster: What is wonderful about great literature is that it transforms the man who reads it towards the condition of the man who wrote.Samuel Lover: When once the itch of literature comes over a man, nothing can cure it but the scratching of a pen. But if you have not a pen, I suppose you must scratch any way you can.Cyril Connolly: While thought exists, words are alive and literature becomes an escape, not from, but into living.

Postposition Definition and Examples

Postposition Definition and Examples Postposition is a word that shows the relation of a noun or pronoun to some other word in a sentence. A postposition is similar in function to a preposition, but it follows rather than precedes the object. Its generally accepted that the only common postposition in English is the word ago. Together, prepositions and postpositions are called adpositions. Examples and Observations Here are some examples of postposition from various writers: I decided many years ago to invent myself. I had obviously been invented by someone elseby a whole societyand I didnt like their invention.(Maya Angelou)Sixty years ago I knew everything; now I know nothing; education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.(Will Durant) Ago and Its Complement Ago in English must follow its complement. (87a) John received a very generous offer a few minutes ago.(87b) *John received a very generous offer ago a few minutes. In contrast with notwithstanding, ago must piedpipe, and cannot strand. (88a) How long ago did John receive the offer?(88b) *How long did John receive the offer ago? (Peter W. Culicover, Syntactic Nuts: Hard Cases, Syntactic Theory, and Language Acquisition. Oxford Univ. Press, 1999) Hence Although ago is . . . usually said to be the only independent postposition of English, the formal use of hence with the meaning from now (as in three weeks hence) seems to be used identically. Traces of postpositional constructions are found in expressions like the whole week through and all the year round.(D.J. Allerton, Over the Hills and Far Away or Far Away Over the Hills: English Place Adverb Phrases and Place Prepositional Phrases in Tandem. Adpositions: Pragmatic, Semantic and Syntactic Perspectives, ed. by Dennis Kurzon and Silvia Adler. John Benjamins, 2008) Clitic Though not usually so treated, the clitic -s could be seen as a postposition in e.g. my friends daughter, my friend in Washingtons daughter.(P.H. Matthews, The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Linguistics. Oxford Univ. Press, 2007) Postpositions In Other Languages Many languages, such as English, express thematic roles by means of prepositions. Some languages, however, use postpositions (i.e., morphemes that express the same thematic roles but come after head nouns). Languages that use postpositions in this way include Korean and Japanese...For those students who have prepositions or postpositions in their native language, English prepositions are still a source of difficulty, and they remain so even as students levels of proficiency increase. One reason for this is the problem of polysemy. In learning a second language, students attempt to draw correspondences between their L1 [native language] prepositions and prepositions in the L2 [second language]. Perfect one-to-one correspondences would facilitate learning, but, given polysemy, finding these is virtually impossible.(Ron Cowan, The Teachers Grammar of English: A Course Book and Reference Guide. Research Proposal Form Dissertation Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Research Proposal Form - Dissertation Example In 1974, being the earliest legal opportunity, majority of the 16-year old British boys left full-time education. The driving force behind differentials in earnings at given levels of experience is the variation in years of schooling prior to labour market entry depicted in the simplest human capital model. But this model is inapplicable for the majority of young people in Britain because they have no schooling beyond the compulsory level. Therefore, it is essential to determine the big variation of success in the labour market regarding this group of young men. We observe the boys who left school in 1974 at the age of 16, and analyse their success with their respective occupations in 1981 (Connolly, et al. 1991; Elias & Blanchflower, 1988), by computing the average gross hourly earnings (over the whole male labour force) in the relevant occupation, gathered data from the Department of Employment’s New Earnings Survey. The sample considered is drawn from the National Child Dev elopment Study (NCDS) panel which is based on all individuals born in Britain in the week, March 3-9, 1958. The current paper aims to gather perceptions and causal attributions of the general public on youths not in employment, education, or training. The eventual goal is to facilitate these youth’s process of finding meaning – that is, assisting them in determining their rightful niches in society.

She is still not satisfied and complains that she does not have any ornaments to wear that would go well with the dress. Acting upon her husband’s suggestion she goes to her friend Madame Forestier and borrows a beautiful necklace from her. Mathilde feels happy throughout the evening and for once in her life feels at par with the ladies that she had been envious of ever since she could remember. However she finds out after reaching home after the ball that the necklace was missing. Both husband and wife search high and low but can’t find the ornament. They decide to replace it with another necklace. They borrow money from many sources and even use up the money that Loisel’s father had left him and buy the necklace for a huge sum, and return it to Madame Forestier without letting her know what actually happened. A ten year period of extreme hardship follows as they repay the debt that they incurred to buy the necklace. By the end of that difficult period Mathilde comes across Madame Forestier and confesses all that happened. Madame Forestier then reveals that the original necklace Mathilde had borrowed was a clever imitation and worth only a few hundred francs. One can’t help but feel sorry for Mathilde. She had been yearning all her life to be a part of the elite. The one evening that happened proved to be too expensive and deprived her of her peace of mind for ten long years. Even though the story has the moral that one has to be happy with what one has and the greed leads to eventual destruction. The plight that Mathilde went through could have been avoided if she had dealt with the situation in a different manner. As soon as she found out that the necklace was

Global Economic Outlook and Challenges Faced by Singapore Essay

Global Economic Outlook and Challenges Faced by Singapore - Essay Example This is endorsed by a survey by the McKinsey Group which finds that amid the uncertainty the prospects for investment banking in the emerging markets remain relatively bright (BÃ ¶hme, Chiarella & Lemerle (2008). Southeast Asia however, has been making solid economic progress since the financial crisis of 1977 but Singapore has been going through a lean pitch and much depends upon the economic activity that take place globally in the near future. The OECD countries accounted for 75% of the world GDP less than 5 decades ago which today accounts for less than 55 percent (Santiso, 2008). The US stock market that accounted for 50% of the world market capitalization now accounts for less than thirty five percent and continues to decline. Emerging markets like Brazil, Mexico, Turkey and South Korea have already become OECD members and Brazil is all set to become the global player. It is growing into a global trader reaching into markets like Middle East, Africa and South East Asia. The subprime crisis of the US can provide new oppurtunities for the Asia-pacific region. The Asia-Pacific investors are playing a key role in supporting the developed countries during the current financial turmoil. Berner (2008) of Morgan Stanley however fears that recession will go global and the industrial economies will be flat in 2009. Most emerging economies have been facing a combination of external shocks and tighter monetary policies. Since the exports to the US would be reduced, it would impact the other economies as they would face decline in employment, which would have pressure on the income, consumers and their lenders. Most predictions estimate that the US economy will take a V-turn and not U-turn. The airline industry too is facing the darkest future as multiple airline liquidations will further cripple the economy that depends on affordable and efficient transportation system.

George Washington Essay Example for Free

George Washington Essay The shift of power in the late 1790’s by the Federalists can be attributed to different factor that had caused such incidents. In understanding this loss, the fall from power does not revolve around the hold of the government. Rather, it is the shift of ideas and reshaping of new interests that had led to the split of views among the American public and the rise of a new group who had a different view with the dominant Federalists. These changes began to manifest itself during George Washington’s tenure as president. Under his control, he had established a capable cabinet to address the current hurdles and obstacles surrounding American society during that time (Intelecom, n.d.). On one side, we can see Alexander Hamilton who seeks to redefine America’s policies and improve on the economy. On the other hand, his secretary of State; Thomas Jefferson, sees these scenarios as too much for central control. There are several issues surrounding this debate between Jefferson and Hamilton. Since the impeding issues of economic problems surrounding the country, there is now an argument surrounding creating a centralized bank that will facilitate these economic issues. However, this was hindered by Jefferson because such creation can undermine the overall capacity of the state to act on these problems (Intelcom, n.d.). At the same time, there is the issue surrounding national debt. Again, there are contrasting views surrounding its resolution. For the part of Jefferson, it is essential that the state pay off these debts and restart with policies that are debt-free which can in turn benefit the whole of the people. On the other hand, for Hamilton he believes that these debts should be hold on by the government. After this, he thinks to centralize these debt systems which shall be facilitated by the national treasury (Intelcom, n.d.). Though there were several arguments that have made a split in Washington’s cabinet, there was one important consolidation among the actors involved. This was choosing the appropriate capital for the central government. In here, it can be argued that Jefferson advocated the transfer of the central office to now Washington D.C. so as to prevent too much control of Federalists in a specific location. That is why choosing a neutral ground is an outcome that both parties especially Jefferson wanted (Intelcom, n.d.). Seeing these developments during the tenure of George Washington, the decline of Federalists power became evident during the formation of individuals who sought to control the level of centralization among other groups. Thus, this started the formation of the Republican Party and showcased a new wave towards redefining views concerning society, politics, and the economy (Intelcom, n.d.). This rise of the Republican party manifested itself after the presidency of George Washington in 1897.Though the head of office was gained by the Federalists, the vice-presidential position was attained by a member of the Republican party; Thomas Jefferson. Seeing this development, the country then saw for the first time two leaders who share opposing views concerning running a country. Such split is one indication of the end of the Federalists grasp of American politics. In the end, the loss of power and control of the Federalist Party resulted in different and contrasting views concerning political and economic politics. With the development of the Republican Party, it allowed the American public to have a choice on important and vital issues surrounding policies on domestic and foreign policy. Such idea catapulted a new wave of how politics and issues are addressed and administered by members of the government. Reference Intelecom (n.d.) Power Struggle Between Federalists and Republicans. Title IX: A long-term debate Essay -- Journalism Journalistic Essays

Title IX: A long-term debate Every year incoming college freshman go to their new college or university expecting to find their favorite sport, but sometimes due to lack of participation the sport is not there. In some case, the federal law Title IX is to blame as in the case of Zalikah Lewis, a sophomore at Pine Manor College, an all women's College in Chestnut Hill. Although she wouldn't join the swim team, she does enjoy the sport and was surprised that the sport wasn't offered while the school had most other popular sports. Thirty-one years ago, with the rise in revenue and attendance at collegiate sports, the federal government implemented a Title IX program that would established opportunities for men and women in colleges for their programs and academics. A major emphasis on the program has gone to schools athletic programs, to share the funds and sporting teams equally. There is a debate over whether the teams are really split fairly or are some of the more successful male teams get prominence over women's teams. "I think women's sports are getting better," said Charmaine Steele, a junior women's basketball player at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. "Some sports are better to watch on the women's side than the men's side. The sports world is slowly moving away from the men. Yes it's still a man's world but not for long," she added. "In athletics there are more males than females; therefore, it shouldn't mean that men should limit their numbers considering that the population of males is a lot higher than that of females," said Lewis. Title IX states that "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subj... ...h earned 66,943 and a women's coach earned 63,000. The differences in salaries have also been a topic of discussion when it comes to Title IX. Although it is still a controversial law in the U.S. Title IX does not seem as it will be going away anytime soon. Colleges and universities have both benefited and been at a loss due to Title IX. The program was set up to open opportunities for all and its true results may not be seen for years. Each person that Title IX affects will have a different reaction to it. Some people will see the good it causes but many will see it as a program killer. Until a full proof way of gender equality is found, every year that Title IX is in effect controversy will follow it. "I think that Title IX is a good thing as it creates equality. Anything that creates opportunities for women and minorities is a good thing," said DeFilippo.

Key Events in the Civil Rights Movement Essay -- Civil Rights Equality

The Civil Rights Movement started with The Montgomery Bus Boycott. The Boycott officially started on December 1, 1955. Rosa Parks was an Educated women and she attended the laboratory school at Alabama State College. Even with that kind of education she decided to become a seamstress because of the fact that she could not find a job to suit her skills. Rosa Parks was arrested December 1955. Rosa Parks Entered a bus with three other blacks and sat on the fifth row. The fifth row was the first row the black could occupy. After a few stops later the rows in front of them where filled with whites. According to the law at the time blacks and whites could not occupy the same row. There had been one white man left with out a seat. The bus driver had told the four to move so the white man had a place to sit. The other three that was with Rosa Parks had moved. Rosa Parks however did not. She refused and was arrested. E.D. Nixon post bond for Rosa Parks. He told her that with her permission they could break segregation from buses with her case. Jo Ann Robinson made flyers and distributed them with her students. The flyers urged people to stay off the buses on Monday the day Rosa Parks case was due. Martin Luther King, Jr. a minister thought that if they could 60 percent of the blacks to stay off the buses the boycott would be a success. Martin Luther King Jr. thought he saw a miracle when he saw bus after bus pass his house with no blacks in them. That night they had called a meeting him and other ministers and blacks of the community which they called there self (MIA) Montgomery Improvement Association. They elected King the president of the group. They had a decision to make whether or not to continue with boycott or not. Then E.D. Nixon rose to speak: ?What's the matter with you people? Here you have been living off the sweat of these washerwomen all these years and you have never done anything for them. Now you have a chance to pay them back, and you're too damn scared to stand on your feet and be counted! The time has come when you men is going to have to learn to be grown men or scared boys.? The MIA had then decided to let the people vote on whether or not to let the boycott continue or not. They held a mass meeting and it was obvious to see that they decided to continue with the boycott. When the boycott began no one had expected for it to ... ...a return to Montgomery, where the civil rights movement had started ten years earlier with the Montgomery Bus Boycott. A few months later, blacks had reason to rejoice again. It was truly a day for celebration. On August 6, 1965, President Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act into law. By 1969, 61% of voting-age blacks in America were registered to vote, compared to 23% in 1964. The Selma to Montgomery march clearly showed both how far American blacks had come and how far they still had to go. Ten years ago blacks could barley do anything and now they are equally treated how they are suppose to be. During the movement mainly great people died. The sacrifices they made help make America what it is today. The movement was from 1955-1965, those years where some of the hardest years for America. Internal communication Essay

It has recently come to my attention that several reports are circulating in the media regarding proposed layoffs at Yahoo and this has become a matter of concern to some of our employees. As with any reports that do not come directly from the Yahoo corporate offices, some of the information being presented could be considered factual while other information is clearly not. It is important to remember that Yahoo has no hidden agenda and employees will be informed as soon as possible when decisions are made which may affect their work status. The truth of the matter is that profit projections for the fiscal year 2007 initially do not appear to be meeting goals. Yahoo stock prices are also valued below projections. It is important that the company make up for these losses by finding methods which will increase profits and decrease costs in the upcoming year. In order to do so, there are many options available for review by Yahoo’s executives, most of them pertaining to an increase in sales of our more popular products, pricing restructure, partnering with other companies, marketing to reach new users, outsourcing, increasing productivity, and reducing those components of the operation which have proven to be unprofitable. Our CEO, Jerry Yang, will be making an educated, well-researched decision regarding these options. Mr. Yang will make an announcement as to which measures will be instituted by Yahoo to increase profits and stock prices on February 1st. Please rest assured that our employees will be apprised of this information before the media reports on the announcement. Until Mr. Yang makes his official announcement regarding profit increases and cost-cutting measures, please bear in mind that Yahoo is making every attempt to resolve its financial problems in a fair and equitable manner which will ensure Yahoo’s future growth and top placement in the market. Since Yahoo is a publicly traded company, it is often the target of media scrutiny and while at times we welcome this scrutiny for its promotional value, at other times it is based purely on hearsay with gaps filled in by a lack of factual information or supposed reports from â€Å"insiders† who no longer work at the company. At Yahoo, our very talented and hard working employees are the backbone of the company and we truly appreciate the time and effort spent at your jobs. The last thing Yahoo wishes to do is lose its most valuable assets – you. Essay on Geoffrey Chaucer

Essay on Geoffrey Chaucer Essay on Geoffrey Chaucer Essay on Geoffrey ChaucerGeoffrey Chaucer is one of the most influential writers of his time, whose works mirrored critically social norms and beliefs of his contemporaries. In this respect, Chaucer’s depiction of the clergymen is particularly noteworthy because, in contrast to the traditional piety in relation to clergymen, Chaucer tends to the satirical and ironical depiction of clergymen as is the case of the Pardoner’s Tale, where the narrator belongs to the clergymen but uses his position for his own benefits.Chaucer is very critical in his view on clergymen. To put it more precisely, he debunks the myth about the clergymen as the community of people living a virtuous lifestyle. Instead, he uncovers numerous vices clergymen are inclined to just like the average people. More important, Chaucer stresses the hypocrisy of clergymen, who pretend to be virtuous people, whereas their acts and thoughts reveal their sinful nature. Clergymen depicted by Chaucer are not a com munity of virtuous people. On the contrary, it is rather the community of sinners, whose sins are eve graver compared to the average people because they disguise their sins under the mask of virtuous lifestyle. At this point, it is possible to refer to the Pardoner’s Tale, where the narrator reveals the sinful nature of the clergyman narrating the story. In fact, the main character of the story is not a virtuous person as he pretends to be. On the contrary, he peruses personal benefits and wealth rather than virtue. In such a way, Chaucer debunks the myth about clergymen as the community of virtuous people. instead, he uncovers their sins and disparity between what they tell and promote and what they actually do.

Water Chemistry Definition and Properties

Water Chemistry Definition and Properties Of all the molecules in the universe, the one most important to humanity is water: Water Definition Water is a chemical compound consisting of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. The name water typically refers to the liquid state of the compound. The solid phase is known as ice and gas phase is called steam. Under certain conditions, water also forms a supercritical fluid. Other Names for Water The IUPAC name for water is, actually, water. The alternative name is oxidane. The name oxidane is only used in chemistry as the mononuclear parent hydride to name derivatives of water. Other names for water include: Dihydrogen monoxide or DHMOHydrogen hydroxide (HH or HOH)H2OHydrogen monoxideDihydrogen oxideHydric acidHydrohydroxic acidHydrolHydrogen oxideThe polarized form of water, H OH-, is called hydron hyroxide. The word water comes from the Old English word wà ¦ter  or from the Proto-Germanic watar or German Wasser. All of these words mean water or wet. Important Water Facts Water is the main compound found in living organisms. Approximately 62 percent of the human body is water. In its liquid form, water is transparent and nearly colorless. Large volumes of liquid water and ice are blue. The reason for the blue color is the weak absorption of light at the red end of the visible spectrum.Pure water is flavorless and odorless.About 71 percent of the Earths surface is covered by water. Breaking it down, 96.5 percent of the water in the Earths crust is found in oceans, 1.7 percent in ice caps and glaciers, 1.7 percent in ground water, a small fraction in rivers and lakes, and 0.001 percent in clouds, water vapor, and precipitation.Only about 2.5 percent of the Earths water is fresh water. Nearly all of that water (98.8 percent) is in ice and ground water.Water is the third most abundant molecule in the universe, after hydrogen gas (H2) and carbon monoxide (CO).The chemical bonds between hydrogen and oxygen atoms in a water molecule are polar covalent bonds. Water readily forms hydrogen bonds with other water molecules. One water molecule may participate in a maximum of four hydrogen bonds with other species. Water has an extraordinarily high specific heat capacity [4.1814 J/(g ·K) at 25  Ã‚ °C] and also a high heat of vaporization [40.65  kJ/mol or 2257  kJ/kg at the normal boiling point]. Both of these properties are a result of hydrogen bonding between neighboring water molecules.Water is nearly transparent to visible light and the regions of the ultraviolet and infrared spectrum near the visible range. The molecule absorbs infrared light, ultraviolet light, and microwave radiation.Water is an excellent solvent because of its polarity and high dielectric constant. Polar and ionic substances dissolve well in water, including acids, alcohols, and many salts.Water displays capillary action because of its strong adhesive and cohesive forces.Hydrogen bonding between water molecules also gives it high surface tension. This is the reason why small animals and insects can walk on water.Pure water is an electrical insulator. However, even deionized water contains ions because water unde rgoes auto-ionization. Most water contains trace amounts of solute. Often the solute is salt, which dissociates into ions and increases the conductivity of water. The density of water is about 1 gram per cubic centimeter. Regular ice is less dense than water and floats on it. Very few other substances exhibit this behavior. Paraffin and silica are other examples of substances that form lighter solids than liquids. The molar mass of water is  18.01528  g/mol.The melting point of water is  0.00  Ã‚ °C (32.00  Ã‚ °F; 273.15  K). Note the melting and freezing points of water may be different from each other. Water readily undergoes supercooling. It can remain in liquid state well below its melting point. The boiling point of water is  99.98  Ã‚ °C (211.96  Ã‚ °F; 373.13  K).Water is amphoteric. In other words, it can act as both and acid and as a base. References Braun, Charles L.; Smirnov, Sergei N. (1993-08-01). Why is water blue?. buy custom Education Revolution essay

buy custom Education Revolution essay Education is one of the important processes in human life that people tend to through so as to pasue their long term dreams. In todays world, education is believed to be the power for it is the process that makes good men out of nothing. The world can only come into civilization with education of which without it, all the activities taking place in the world can stagnate as there are no educated and skilled personnel to manage them. In the American history Education is recognized as a very important process as they also believe that it is through education that their country or states can gain political social and economical stability. This made education to be referred to as the power due to the fact that it forms the basis of any good thing in the American history. Due to this significance that education has to the lives of people, very many strategies have been put forward to boost this process so as to continue serving many people. This paper mainly focuses on the history of the American and how the reacted to education since the colonial period to date. Due to the fact that education is power as many people placed it, it is believed to enhance peace of mind and thought. Not to forget is the expansion of the mind that in turn enables one to think and make correct decisions in life so as to make his or her life comfortable. During the colonial period, the whites were threatened by this thing called education for they believed that they would loose control over their slaves after they had fully got some bit of education. The also believed that the slaves would have their own perspective and way of approaching life. To them education was a very dangerous weapon that could enable the slaves to finally overpower them. This made the white to block the process of education for some time in America and any other region of which they controlled. The did not want the blacks to get even a d\single hint of education hence subjected them to some kind of hush treatments that could not create chance or allow room for education.. In the history of the Americans, education is said to have been dominated by various groups of people who were bound by social relationships. There came a time in the History of the Americans that slaves could get some little privilege of expressing themselves from the spport of education. An educated slave could distinguish what was wrong and right for him or herself hence could find alternative ways of withdrawing him or herself from the bondage of slavery. Though they tried to get educated but they could not still fully manage it as they got a lot of pressure from their masters who were against their education. Not all the whites were against the slaves education but only to a few who felt they could be left with a huge gap to fill especially when it came to the fulfillment of their desires. Some of the whites wanted to achieve some of their set targets and objectives through the slaves. Though some wanted the slaves to be free, there were still some problems that they though woul d arise due to the fact that most of the slaves were blacks and they thought that the literacy of the blacks would make some proof to slavery as the master mainly benefited from the services offered buy their slaves. As far as this matter of slave education was concerned, a sound warning was passed by South Carolina in the year 1770 targeted those white who engaged the black slaves in the education system. The warning that was passed prevented the black slaves from learning as anyone white who could be seen to have involved in such an act, was to face a sever punishment that gave him or her an option of paying a given amount of dollars. Due to this stern warning issued by Southern Carolina, the slaves and other whites who were not impressed by the issue of slavery, involved in this act at night or in secret places where these whites could teach some of the slaves how to read and write. The wives of their masters also offered some little support to the in terms of education but not fully. The children of the slaves could also sneak to various places of secrecy such as churches where they could learn how to read and write. This is how some of the slaves who managed to bring freedom to their race ma de it in terms of education. After some time or a given duration of time from the time the Southern Carolina issued a warning, many schools in the southern states of America ceased from admitting black children as they were afraid of the policies that governed the warning. The only way these children were to learn was through some religious institutions that also had an aim of divert their beliefs of the slaves to in terms of religion. It is through religion that many blacks managed to get some bits of knowledge for they were given the opportunity to learn how to read and write so as to understand more about religion. In religious institutions the blacks were safe as they had no pressure from any side. This is so because religion tends to operate on its own and had its own policies and regulations that governed it. It became very difficult to do criticize or punish religious organization because it consisted on very many members that became very difficult to punish. Very many white teachers were punished due to matters pertaining to the blacks education making various learning institutions involve in a forced act of racial discrimination. Learning itself from all these experiences can be said to have come a long way though it is still not fully set in some of the developing countries in the world. Education started long time ago even if nobody had realized that it existed. It started as an informally in various societies where children were only taught the basics of life and how they could go about them. This applied to both the white and black societies as it is the general basis of education in the present world. The first people to be educated or to know more about education were the whites who in turn used the little knowledge they had gained to take control over some countries in the world. It is also from the white that other countries or states in the world came to learn more about education. As per them, learning did not have a difficult beginning as they had free time and no pressure attached to their learning systems. The problem only began with other races where they could not allow them to get free education having fear that they might at one time overpower them. America as a state that combines all races together came to get basic education from various religious institutions. Education in todays world has really revolutionized making to favor all. It has been going some changes and improvements over the last centuries and has today reached a level where it can go hand in hand with technology. It began informally and has today advanced to high levels that is very important to the economies of every country in the world. Buy custom Education Revolution essay
